Hello and  welcome to my website preview/ introduction for
PaulDCandelaria.Com.  In a page just beyond this one, you'll
see art samples that I hope will amuse you and entice you to
make use of my services and skills.  Read on and acquaint
yourself  with my artwork stylings and perhaps we can work
together, we could do so much.  I also hope you'll drop by on
occasion as this site will be a work in progress and many
more pages will be added for variety of reasons.
I'm one of those people
who wonders what are
we, the art-loving public,
NOT seeing when we
look at a piece of art
hanging on the wall?  I
like to know what else
has the artist done.
Well, this doodle is what
I trimmed off the
sectional drawing seen
above.  It's a self-parody
of myself made while
testing a certain brush.
Yea, I had hair just like
that many years ago.
There's not much to tell about me, I was born and between
now and then I learned to draw.  I drew crude imitations of
the cartoons I used to see in the later 1960's, mostly the
Hanna-Barbera cartoons.  These are the ones that shaped my
first art styles and remain  an influence that I use from time to
time today.  Eventually, I discovered comics and developed the
understandably hateful habit of drawing in them.  I know;
Lousy kids messing up classic books!  In time, I learned NOT
to draw in the books and instead copied the artwork on paper
outside and away from the book.  I learned tons of details from
the countless artists in the books and tried to use them as best
I could in my own artwork.  I remember picking up bits of
anatomy from varied artists; rib cages from  Curt Swan,
calves from Dick Dillin, lighting details from Jim Lee, pure
insanity from Milt Gross, poses from Gil Kane, awesome
direction by Will Eisner and so much more from so many other
hands whose craft won't be forgotten by the next generations.
I feel I've learned their lessons in art and I hope it shows.
Not to take away from anyone's efforts but I have done some
artwork though not nearly enough to suit or support me.  I
have hand-painted and designed T-shirts, I made a logo for an
editorial column called Voice Of America, I drew and did gags
for a CD cartoon strip called Captain Chubby, I have done
some political cartoons that have appeared on
DrumMajorInstitute.Org, another editorial cartoon that
appeared in an art gallery.
Well, it's some nutshell but that's basically me.  I have an
amusing if not always understood, sense of humor and a good
sense of professionalism so you can feel secure if you decide to
hire me for a variety of projects.  While I'm confident enough
to say I can do MANY things, copying the Mona Lisa is not
within my capabilities but I think you'll like what I can do.
That said, I leave
you to mosey through the rest of my website
and let me know what you think, all comments will be read but
the really good ones will be prized.
Now, you're thinking who is this guy?

WHO AM I ?  Why, I'm

This is a composite piece comprised of four separate drawings in slightly
varying styles to demonstrate an assortment of  finishes.  The white cat is
based on one of my real cats and if that's not really her attitude, it should be.
